Good turn out for Meet the builder

Around 20 people attended the Meet the Builder information evening on Thursday. The mood was positive and there were a lot of good questions asked. Funny to think we’d be excited about embarking on 10.5 months of scaffolding, dust and noise but there’s been a lot of hard work put in to get here and the results will be worth it. Most importantly these are important remedial works that will ensure ‘Shannon’ is preserved and protected for another 50 years.

NOTE: If you haven’t done so already text site supervisor, Cory with your name and unit number so he can easily reach you throughout the project. Cory’s number is: 0424 189 225

Some key take aways from the evening;

  • Work starts 30th of June with the erection of swing stages and scaffolding to Stage 1 (A & B units)
  • Stage 1 residents will be contacted by Pres Tech to arrange access to their units for a check measure so that your new windows and doors can be put into production mid July with installation estimated to commence in August.
  • Stage 1 scaffolding will be in place until the end of November subject to the weather. Stage 1 swinging stages will be removed earlier and moved to the next stage.
  • Working hours are 7.00am – 5.00pm Monday – Friday. Noisy Works are permitted from 7.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday
Your Responsibilities
  • Once window installation commences on your stage be ready to remove your window coverings a few days before they reach your apartment until installation is complete. Residents are also asked to shift furniture away from the windows, a 1 metre setback is ideal. Window coverings can be replaced after the window and doors are installed but may need to be removed again for the making good activity. NOTE: windows will be installed in stages, approx 2 to 3 windows in a day.
  • Residents are also responsible for the removal of all items on balconies such as pot plants, furniture and the like prior to the construction of the scaffold being erected on their side of the building / construction stage.
Important Considerations
  • Once construction and scaffolding has commenced balcony access will not be available for safety reasons and the doors will be locked from the outside.
  • When installation is not underway on your windows and doors you may wish to keep your curtains drawn and blinds down for privacy. Window should be kept closed as much as possible to stop dust and reduce noise.
